Color codes with twists: Construction and universal-gate-set implementation

Twists are defects in a lattice that can be used to perform encoded computations. Three basic types of twists introduced color codes: permute color, charge anyons, and domino the label an anyon with label. In this paper, we study subset these from coding theoretic viewpoint. Specifically, discuss systematic construction permuting codes. We show by braiding alone, Clifford gates realized codes twists. also implementing single-qubit Pauli frame update CNOT gate holes around Finally, non-Clifford state injection, thus completing realization universal set.
